Artist Bao has been inspired by manga since childhood. Born and living in Hong Kong, she created this poetic steel lithograph featuring a mother and her many children playing in her long, curly black hair. The mother’s lascivious pose contrasts with the playfulness of the girls in a soft and joyful harmony.

The artist Bao excels in her ability to paint what is in her mind. The lithograph "Fresh Hair" incorporates all of the artist's creative facets: a main character, here symbolising the mother, the queen, and her creatures entwined in her waving hair. The creatures' lively and mischievous faces merrily intertwine, revealing either an arm, a leg or a generous thigh.
The turquoise blue colour brings a fresh touch to the black and white ensemble and dresses the characters and their environment. The delicate outline of the work, laser cut to follow the lines of the surrounding leaves, adds to the impression of tranquility that emanates from this piece.
